Inspiration: Dior Runway Couture

This is my entry look for the contest on MakeUpTalk.  The theme is to do a Dior Runway show look.  If you google image "Dior runway makeup" you'll see exactly what I'm talking about!  Or you can just click the link here and see the post on the make up site! All of you are welcome to enter as well with your own Dior Runway inspired look!

Anyway, even though it's pretty crazy, I still think it's cute in it's own way!  I'm happy with the way mine turned out!  I've never glued lashes somewhere other than my lash line... so it was neat to try (they still moved with my eye... it was weird! lol).

Love this color!  It's a hot pink that isn't TOO distracting. It's the perfect Valentine's Day polish!

The zebra print is done using Konad White polish and Konad plate M62.

I probably have about 10 pairs of toe socks at the moment!  They are so cute! :)

43) Changing My Hair

I think this was taken about 4 years ago?  During my adult life, I've had... short hair, long hair, straight across bangs, side bangs, no bangs, dark purple hair, chunky highlights, red hair, dozens of shades of brunette, dark brown hair underneath light blonde hair...etc.  I feel like I'm pretty adventurous with it.  ...Just not lately.  lol  I've invested my time into make up!

44) Vanilla

I love everything vanilla.  In my coffee, candles, in perfume, in cookies, etc.  I don't think vanilla is plain! :D

No, Angelina Jolie is not one of my favorite things.  But cat eye liner is!  Particularly the way it's done here!  Oh, if only I wasn't so heavy handed!

Celebrity Inspired: Nicki Minaj

I was flipping through channels on TV the other day, and stumbled across a music video featuring Nicki Minaj.  She had really pretty colorful make up, so I thought I'd give it a try and show you all!

 Top: With Flash.

Bottom: Without Flash (without flash is way more forgiving! lol)

Due to the fact that my lips were SUPER chapped and not in fine form, there's no up close of the lip color.  

Main colors I used:

• Beauty From The Earth multi-purpose minerals
  - Lemon

  - Green Apple
• MAC e/s in Dark Devotion (brows)
• L'Oreal HIP cream e/l in Black
• MAC Kohl e/l in Smoulder
• MAC pigment in Dark Soul (over liner and under eye)

On the cheeks, I used MAC blush in Gingerly.

On the lips, I used Sephora l/l in Candid Candy, MAC l/s in Saint Germain and Colour Crafted.  As well as NYX round l/s in Harmonica.

NARS Fashion Icon Set - New at Sephora!

This was an email I got from Sephora because of my VIB Insider status.  I thought I'd share the knowledge. 

NARS really seems to be capitalizing on the success of their "Orgasm" colored products.  I've never tried any of them, and really, I don't plan to anytime soon. 

What do you think of this set? 

Celebrity Inspired: Kim Kardashian

A Kim Kardashian inspired look - often duplicated, never replicated.  Haha!  But here's my attempt anyway!  I really liked this look (in person, it was soooo much better than these pictures)!  I wish I would have done this in the day time so I could take a picture in natural light... but, what can you do?!  :)

I did research the products that Kim K actually wears, but I don't own ALL of them.  But the ones that I did have, I used!  :)

I don't think this needs an explanation!  :)  Love the way it looks!

34) Nude Lips

This is a swatch of MAC Myth lipstick.  When I say "nude lip" I mean lips blanked out to skin color.  Not natural lips with nothing on them.  For some reason I love the look.  Especially with smokey eyes!

35) Taking Pictures

Haha, this is ridiculous!  My sister, brother-in-law and I messing with my web cam a few years ago.

FOTD: January 7, 2011 (Using Tarte)

 I did this quite a while ago.  And I guess it didn't turn out as great as it could have!  Or maybe my pictures just aren't good?  I have no idea.  But here it is anyway!


Main colors I used:

• Tarte - The Jewelry Box
  - Shimmery emerald green (over liner)
  - Matte taupe (crease to brow)
  - Shimmery buttercream color (inner corner)
  - Matte pale yellow (crease and brow bone)
  - Matte pink (crease)
  - Matte dark green (outer corner)
• Also from the Jewelry Box
  - Green liner (smudged on lid and lower lash line before shadow)
  - Matte black liner (tight lined, top lined)
• Tarte multiplEYE mascara

On the cheeks, I used MAC blush in Gingerly.  Also, the highlight powder from the Tarte Jewelry Box.

On the lips, I used the lower left hand shade in the Jewelry Box palette (it's a pinky color with gold shimmer).





 Bonus: OOTD!  I did this look quickly and got ready to go out with my friend.  :)

FOTD: ELF Quad in "Drama"

Both of these looks were done using the ELF Brightening Eye Color Quad in Drama.  The shadow is just applied two different ways for each look (obviously...lol).

The quad retails for ONLY $1 from Target or EyesLipsFace.com and probably wherever else ELF is sold.


Main colors I used:

• Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original
• ELF Brightening Eye Color Quad in Drama.
• Make Up For Ever e/l in oL
• L'Oreal HIP Cream e/l in Black

The color payout of this palette (in THIS color) is really great!

Just a warning!  I've also done a look for an upcoming post about the Ivy palette and the color payout isn't nearly as great as this.  So I can't say that they're all of equal quality, but the Drama palette is really great!

21) MAC l/s in Angel

It's described on maccosmetics.com as a soft pink with a frost finish.  Love it!

22) Sushi

I absolutely love sushi and probably eat it at least twice a month.  I looove raw tuna and raw scallops!  I even took this picture when I went out not long ago!  I ate THIS roll!  lol

I love veggies!  Instead of snacking on chips or ice cream when I watch TV, I usually snack on carrots.  :P

  25) Big Lashes

I don't wear lashes daily, but I have pretty naturally large eyelashes.  I especially love these Ardell Runway Lashes in Gisele!  They're big, but fairly wearable!

 26) Going on dates :)

My boyfriend and I have birthdays within 2 weeks of each other in July.  Instead of gifts, we went on a really nice date - to Simply Fondue.  Such a fun time!

 28) Boots

 I love ALL kinds of winter boots.  Particularly these Viking Boots, which I don't own yet.  I have a ton of high heel boots and even though I'm fairly tall (5'8") I don't mind wearing the heels in the winter!
