Haul: Drugstore (lip products/face products)

I was out with my sister the other day at Walgreens and we were waiting on some stuff so we shopped around. I had some $1 off coupons for Rimmel face/lips/eyes stuff. ANNND they had a BOGO sale! So, this is in no particular order and some stuff I don't know the prices, but here you go!

Top: Rimmel Exaggerate Full Color Lip Liner in 063 Eastend Snob
Bottom: Revlon Colorstay Lipliner in Clear
**Love these both!

Rimmel Natural Bronzer in 021 Sun Light
This is another picture, the color is slightly washed out, but it's pretty close to that.
I wore this today and I think it warmed up my face a little. I'm SOOO white. lol

Sally Hansen La Cross Eyelash Curler
So comfortable and easy to use! My last one was giving me problems... lol

Rimmel Stay Matte +SkinPure Complex Clarifying Matte Foundation in 100 Ivory
I really wanted to like this, but I feel like it doesn't make me "stay matte." I actually feel very shiny today! Blah. Oh well. I'll use it some more and see how it goes.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in 405 Silver City Pink (Pearl)
I love love love this! :D

So there you go! I also ordered 2 lipsticks from MAC which I should get next week or maybe this week!? :D

I'm basically addicted to make up!

FOTD: April 26, 2009

So, I'm usually a dark eyes/light lips girl. But for some reason last week I wanted to switch it up a bit and do the opposite. So I tried a very natural eye and a dark (dark for me!) lip. I don't really remember what products I used, but I'm not sure this look works for me anyway!

Oh, and I definitely need to start working on a tan... lol

Haul: Sally Beauty Supply (Hair Products/China Glaze)

ConairPro - Tourmaline Finger Diffuser ($7.49)

This says it's a universal fit, but it doesn't fit my Conair hair dryer... hmm. It does fit my mom's Revlon one though... lol Sweet! I'll post a picture after I use it! I'm really excited to use it because I have naturally wavy hair, but it fro's out when it dries naturally. lol

Beyond The Zone - Turn Up The Heat Flat Iron Protection ($6.49)

So I figured I probably need a good heat protectant, and Emily (beautybroadcast on youtube) recommends this one. PLUS, this smells AMAZING! Kind of like fruit... strawberry or cherry or something. So if you're not into that, you might not like this. I'm gonna use it today after I get out of the shower and see how it goes! I'm always worried that these types of products are going to make my hair look oily. lol We shall see!

China Glaze Nail Polish - ($3.25)
(right to left) 094 Naked, 650 Shower Together, 1007 Turn Up The Turquoise (neon)

Pictured Above: 1007 Turn Up The Turquoise (neon)

So I went to Sally's Yesterday (and became a Beauty Club Member! lol) and got a few things!

I originally went to get one nail polish, and I ended up with 3... lol You know how it goes! Anyway, I looked on the website before I left and I saw that Beauty Club Members get China Glaze nail polish for $3.25 instead of $5.99. :) Plus they're having a deal that China Glaze nail polish is Buy 2, Get 1 FREE! So especially if you're a club member, that's a great deal!
**One thing I'll mention is that the Turquoise one is not a shiny color. The top coat makes it shiny. lol It's kinda weird.

I also got a Beauty Club Card. It costs $5, but you get a $5 coupon to use the next month when you check out. And you, of course, can get great deals on all these products. Last night I saved $7.78 which pretty much pays for the card, and then I have that coupon to use next month. Another nail polish? :P

Haul: Everyday Minerals (Base/Blush)

I got my Everyday Minerals stuff like, 2 weeks ago. lol But, as far as I can tell, I love it! I got the little sample pack (3 base, 1 concealer, 1 blush).

****************************************
I got:
Base:
Multitasking - Matte
Fair - Intense
Fair Medium - Intense

Concealer:
Intensive Fair

Blush:
Once and Again

****************************************
The coverage seems pretty good. They don't make me look powdery or anything. They cover up a lot of blemish spots. Easily blendable. My mom and sister also got some and they love it too! :)

DIY: Color Theory/ Colored Concealers

It has come to my attention that many people do not understand all the varieties of concealers out. Orange?! Green?! Well, I'd like to clarify!

If you've taken an art class, you're probably vaguely familiar with color theory. I won't explain the whole concept, just what you need to know in terms of concealer!

Colors across from each other on the color wheel make brown. Purple and yellow, blue and orange, and red and green. All make brown (someone told me they all make gray... lol). Anyway, moving on.

What color are blemishes? Red. Exactly. What do I do if I don't want the blemish to stand out? Try and neutralize the color (not cake on make up). Because most skin is a brown/beige shade, you put green over top of the blemish (make sure it's over just the blemish, not just everywhere or you'll be an alien! haha) to lessen the red of it and try and make it a brownish shade. After applying a green concealer, you can either add a skin tone concealer over top or your foundation. Just depends on your preference/the order you do things. So there! The purposes of a green concealer!

Now, on to orange! Many people have blue/purple circles under their eyes. Of course, we don't want anyone to see those! So, back to color theory, yellow and purple, blue and orange... A lot of companies sell "salmon" colored concealer for this purpose. It's kind of a light orange color which works really great for neutralizing these blue/purple circles. After that is all said and done, you'll want to apply foundation or whatever (you probably just don't want to walk around with green dots and orange under your eyes).

Oh, and while I was looking for pictures to accompany this post, I noticed I forgot to talk about purple concealer, which is obviously for yellow skin tones/yellow splotches, etc...

The Three Examples Above Are:
Smashbox Photo Finish - Color Correcting
SephoraBrand Concealer Palette
Make Up Forever Camouflage Cream Palette No. 1

All are available at
www.sephora.com

**Note: There are also lots of drugstore brands that have colored concealers too!

Haul: Smashbox (Fusion Lights/Primer/Lip Gloss)

So this is my last Smashbox stuff for a while I think! :P

I bought the Photo Finish primer in Light (travel size, $16), although I SWEAR I clicked on the regular... oh well. If I don't like it, I can return it! :D I tried a little and I feel like it made my face dry or something... I don't know. I'll test it out again and see if it's okay.

For free I got the lip enhancing gloss in Aura. It's such a pretty color! I didn't think I'd like it when I saw it in the bottle, but it's different on your lips. I'll do a FOTD wearing it. It was hard to get a good swatch.

I also got the Fusion Soft Lights in Resolution for free with the "Let's Do Lunch" special. It's pretty versatile. The brown colors have a little bit of a pink undertone, which would give a good glow to blush. The white color would be a great highlight, etc. I'll have to experiment a couple ways and see. All the colors have a shimmer, except the darker brown one, which I think is kind of weird, but okay!

Either way, I'm loving the Smashbox.
