Haul: NYX (lipstick)

I ordered some new NYX Round Lipsticks and a Jumbo Pencil and a white eyeliner on cherryculture.com.  Unfortunately, the swatches on cherryculture.com are not great, so here's some pictures/descriptions for yall!

The whole order, including shipping only cost $20.20!

These are the new colors I boughtttt.....

Iced Honey -A pinky, frosty nude.  My favorite NYX color I own!
Ceto - Kind of looks like Iced Honey, but a little pinker.
Tea Rose - Wanted this one forever.  A nice rosy pink, no frost/shimmer.
B52 -  Looked a LOT lighter in a youtube vid I saw it on.  A darker (I love NUDE lips, so my definition of darker is skewed) pinky-plum.
Frosted Beige - Love this color too.  Corally-pink frosty (obviously) color.  Perfect for summer!

Here's a picture of the other NYX lippies I have.  I have a blog entry about them with swatches.  But this is just for reference.  The top row are colors I had.  The bottom row are the colors I just bought.

I left the last picture big so yall can zoom in and see.

Crazy about shoes!

I've never really been particularly interested in shoes (although I DO love my winter boot collection!).  But as for spring/summer, I mostly just stick to cute flips flops.  :)

Either way, here's some "summery" shoes I've been oogling.

I absolutely LOVE the last picture.  So cute!  One reason I tend to stray from cute heeled shoes is because the heels on these particular shoes are between 4" to 5.5"  - YIKES!   That would make me 6 feet tall or more.  Not sure how I feel about that!  Haha!
These shoes are from www.asos.com.

Haul: Philosophy

I've heard so many good things about Philosophy's skincare products.  I finally gave in and bought a little sample kit, and actually, this kit will probably last me for a few months!
What it costs: $42
What you get:

- 4.0 oz Purity Made Simple
- 1.0 oz Hope In A Jar
- 0.25 oz Eye Hope

I've only been using these products twice a day for about a week, but my skin has already improved so much!  I don't wanna mince words, so basically I had horrible skin ever since 7th grade (my dermatologist told me to get on Accutane, but I declined.  No thank you!).  Even though it is MUCH improved these days, I still have scars from past breakouts and I still get blackheads.

Recently, I've been getting blackheads right around my lips, probably from lip gloss and lipstick, and they're gone now!  And that's only after a couple days, ladies!  :P  The blackheads on my nose are going away, my skin is softer and smoother.  I'm just in love!

HOWEVER, this is just my first reaction to these products.  I'm not sure a week is enough to be completely sold on a product but I'm loving it so far!  I'm definitely excited that these are working for me now.  :)

I also got this body wash!  It cost $16.  I love the smell, however, the smell is VERY faint and I LOVE coconut smells.  I'm not sure I'm loving this, even though I did hear a million good things about it.  Still trying it out.  I feel like it makes me smell like... metal or something when I get out of the shower.
Either way!  There's my news!  :D

NOTD: China Glaze Collection and Estee Lauder polish

My China Glaze collection is growing!

Exceptionally Gifted on my nails right now!

Left to right: Ruby Pumps (sparkly red), In Awe of Amber (kind of metallic bronze, reminds me of Amber Lights e/s from MAC) and Chiaroscuro (dirty pink with green reflect)

Left to right: Wild Mink (pinky coral), Naked (hot pink) and Exceptionally Gifted (pearly baby pink)

Left to Right: Shower Together (electric blue), Turned Up Turquoise -Neon (bright green), For Audrey (Tiffany & Co. jewelry box blue - pastel blue) and Liquid Leather (black).

All descriptions are based on what it looks like in the bottle - NOT on your finger.  Some polishes change a little after they dry.  I think Turned Up Turquoise is a matte color.  There's no shine on your nails after applying it.

I get my China Glaze polishes at Sally's Beauty Supply, and they usually have a buy 2, get 1 deal.  Something like that.  Just today I bought Chiaroscuro, Wild Mink and In Awe of Amber.  I thought they're be some nice summery colors!  :)

Also, because these are TOO cute not to include in a nail polish post:  MINI Estee Lauder polishes!

Left to Right: Frozen Fantasy, Rose Candy, Rosa Rosa, Black Wine.

The bottles are square so they're easy to store away.  I think they're just adorable!

Anyway, I have a bunch of other nail polishes too, but they're just all random brands.  Just odds and ends I've accumulated over the years.  Nothing too exciting there.

Hope you enjoyed looking at my nail polish!  I love looking at other nail polish posts too!

Celebrity Inspired: Kim Kardashian eye/Audrina Patridge eye & blue shadow look

Just messing around with some makeup today. Looked on YouTube and tried out some looks I saw. I looove the first one. It's a "Kim Kardashian Inspired Smokey Eye" but I changed it a little, didn't put on lashes (don't like to do it!).

This one is an "Audrina from the Hills Inspired Look." Again, made a few tweaks of my own... This is kind of similar to some of my everyday looks.

This one is a "Wearable Blue Inspired Look." Would I wear this out? Probably not. But it was kind of fun to do and it's not necessarily scary blue. It probably would look better if I had done my face and the other eye so yall could see, but I was feeling lazy and just messing around before I shower!

DIY: Depotting and pressing pigments, MAC lipstick haul

I have 2 large (7.5g) MAC pigments and 4 pigments probably half of the large size. I don't use them very much because they get messy and in the mornings I don't have enough time to deal with it. I decided to try pressing them. I used Jardin Aires (the beige) and Copperized (the green) to test this out because I have the most of them. I bought the 91% alcohol (like, $1 at Wal*Mart) and before I bought empty pans and stuff, I decided to try doing this in the two empty pans of a CoverGirl palette I already owned!

It actually worked out pretty great. They're probably a little more powdery than the regular pressed shadows from MAC, but either way, I have been using them more and that was the point in the first place!

After I successfully accomplished pressing some pigments, I decided I was going to buy the 15 pan MAC palette ($12 on MAC's site) and the travel size 4 pan palette ($4? I think). Anyway, I used MakeUpGeek's (youtube) method for depotting using a flat iron and it worked out great!

Here's my travel palette with some shadows! (dazzlelight, print, woodwinked and sable)

Instead of printing labels and all that stuff, I just took the label off the bottom of the pan's compact and stuck it to the back of my pan.

This ^^ is the magnet roll I used. I bought it at Michaels for $2 I think. I couldn't find anything else. I was scared at first that it might be too fat of a magnet and make my shadow pans float too much in my palettes, but they probably only stick out like, 1mm. So I'm happy! I don't care that much!

Moving on, my sweet boyfriend heard me say that I really wanted Viva Glam V from MAC, so he went and just randomly got it for me! :) I absolutely love it!
This is Viva Glam V ^^^

It feels a little empty getting only one lipstick at a time, so I went ahead and bought myself Brave from MAC. At first, Brave and Viva Glam V looked sooo similar and I was worried about that! But! Turns out they have some subtle differences.

This is Brave vvvv

Here's a picture of them together. Brave is slightly more pink than Viva Glam V. Brave is a Satin finish and Viva Glam V is a Lustre finish, so it has kind of a shimmery texture. I usually REALLY go for pinky lip colors, but I think I would say that I like Viva Glam V more. I'll definitely repurchase it. But don't get me wrong, I'm loving Brave right now too!

Just a little side note: This is the flat iron I used to depot my shadows. My other iron broke before I went out of town so I needed one in a pinch. I went to Sally's Beauty Supply and got this super cute pink one! It's even got a little bling bling! Very me! :) It heats up fast and straightens my hair really well! :)

Haul: MAC & Smashbox

My boyfriend and I had to celebrate Christmas a little early this year because we weren't going to be seeing each other on Christmas (and for about 2 weeks after Christmas too :( ) so I'd like to show yall my make up related gifts!

He took me to MAC and let me pick out a couple things and then we headed out to Sephora so I could look there too!

I ended up getting MAC Gingerly blush. I was wanting a peachy kind of blush because I don't have one yet so this one really stood out to me. I'm kind of worried about using a MAC product on my face (other than eye make up) because the foundation I tried from them made me break out really bad. BUT! We'll see how this goes!

Gingerly is described on the MAC website as "Capri bronze (Sheertone)." While I can't really say much else about it right now because I only wore it for the first time today, I can say that it's very matte which is nice and a little bit goes a LONG way. When I asked my sister how it looked on me today she said "It's very natural but you have a very healthy glow." So that's nice, right!?

Of course, how can I get something from MAC without getting some eye shadows... lol After toiling over what colors I would get, I finally decided on a nice wearable gray and a fun warm/brown color.

To the left: "Print - Muted grey with shimmer (Satin)"
To the right: "Sable - Gold-plum w/bronze pearl (Velvet)"
As described on the MAC website.

I absolutely LOVE Sable. I would say it's king of purplie/pink/brown. It definitely has a sheen to it. I put it all over my lids today (and put a dark brown in the crease) and it looked really nice. It's a very unique color.

I haven't used Print yet, but it's so pretty! It's got the smallest little pieces of glitter/shimmer (whatever you wanna call it) and I think it'll make a really nice smokey eye. :)

Then, off to Sephora. I was looking to find a brown pencil liner that was soft like my MAC Eye Kohl (I LOVE IT) but I didn't necessarily want it to be SO smudgy. I searched all sorts of brands and I saw the Urban Decay 24/7 pencils (I've heard they were really good) but I didn't really like the color of brown they had. So finally, I went back to the Smashbox aisle (my love for Smashbox will never die! haha!) and I saw a box of eyeliners (a special for Christmas) with 5 different eyeliners for $32! NICE! Had to snap it up! It comes with a black, brown, silver, purple and green pencil. Nice to beef up the variety of liner colors I have too! I've heard some people say that the liners smear after only a few hours of use but I put on the brown liner about 10 hours ago and it's still nicely in place. :)

You can find the liners on sephora.com here:
http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P247604&categoryId=C10905

Basically, I'm a happy girl. :)

Merry Christmas to all of you!

FOTD: December 9, 2009

This is old. I always forget to put the pics up, or I get lazy, or I just don't take any. Haha! Anyway, this is a few weeks ago. It's pretty much my "normal" make up look, just tweaked a little. I usually do a brown smokey eye, but I had switched this to a gray/black one. I think it looks cute with the pink shirt. Also wearing pale pink lips as well! :)

DIY: Acrylic Nails with ASP Kit

Please visit my latest post on acrylic nails HERE.  :)

*************************************
I went to Sally Beauty Supply the other day and picked up....

http://www.sallybeauty.com/Pink-Nails-Kit/SBS-156376,default,pd.html?cgid=Nail03

It is the ASP All in One Pink and White Kit. It comes with a pink acrylic powder, a white acrylic powder, 20 tips, acrylic bonding liquid, nail glue, a brush to apply the products and a mini nail file. It cost me about $12 with my Beauty Club Card. I paint my nails different every week, and I've done the press on nails....etc. I've never tried any acrylic type of stuff before. SO! I am a beginner! BUT! Here's a picture from right now!

I took the picture with my phone, so it might not be the best quality, but! They look pretty nice I think! It took a little time, I won't deny that, and the acrylic bonding liquid will make your room/house smell like a nail salon, but it's so much cheaper to do it this way!

I cut my natural nails short. I laid out what tips I was going to use on what fingers first (the kit has 20 tips, but some are for wider nails and I guess I have skinny fingers). I used my bar file (that nail file that's a long rectangle thing?) to rough my nails up a little so the glue could stick, I carefully glued the nails on (btw, these tips have little indents indicating how far you should put them down on your nail). I put the white powder and liquid solution to the tips, I did the pink powder and liquid solution over the nail bed and over my tips (the pink is pretty translucent so it won't discolor the tips). I used my bar file again to smooth the surface of my nail. I also added a top coat to my nails.

These nails look pretty matte. SO, if you're not into that, you may want to purchase a some sort of buffer liquid or something to make them shinier.

But anyway, if you can do 2 sets of nails with this kit, it's only $6 a set! NICE!

Hope yall find this interesting!

OH, btw - the acrylic stuff sets in like, 3 minutes with no UV light or anything. It's like painting your nails. Paint it on, leave it alone until it's completely dry, and then go from there.
